A City Hall and Bowling Elopement: Brieghan and Ryan
You read that right. These two reached out to us and wanted to look like secret agents and to go bowling. I was on board immediately. Who doesn’t love a theme? Looking back I wish I had worn something that was a nod to the idea. What more could you ask for?
I met them at the Press Hotel and we walked over to the Portland City Hall. There was a family in the City Clerks office, getting birth certificates for their newborn twins. The Clerks office is always a sweet place to be and iconic for elopements in my mind. You could run into another couple who is planning their elopement, a fisherman getting their license, and apparently, today, 2 secret agents. After the swift ceremony, we walked through Portland all the way down the hill to Bayside Bowl, where they facetimed family and bowled. I had assured them that it wasn’t that far of a walk, but when we finally made it to the bowling alley I think her shoes were saying otherwise.
My favorite detail was when Brieghan put their names into the bowling system as “Mr.” and “Mrs.” When we put our last name in the bowling system, we get flagged as inappropriate.
