Gardiner Maine Castle Wedding
When I think back to their wedding, Im still overcome with how special a place it was for a wedding. These two were married at her family’s castle(!) that is still owned by them and enjoyed by them for over 250 years. It has revolutionary war stories and more. Its a landmark in Gardiner Maine and we were lucky to be there. We are starting the wedding story right before the ceremony, as guests started to sit down under a stunning old tree to await the couples procession. With heartfelt vows and tears flowing, they promised the rest of their lives to one another, and to their future children that they hope to have. She had imagined marrying her partner under this tree as a little girl so it was an incredible thing to experience for them. They kissed and then raced back down the aisle to their delicious cocktail hour appetizers and drinks. A few family photos were taken by us, and then we walked around the property with them for a few minutes to take some couple photos. At one point, they yelled back to us that we were asking them to stand in cow poop. HA! We do a lot of odd things for photos, so lets all give these two a round of applause for the poop toughness. Later on we took a few photos inside the house (not pictured here) and even were able to take a photo she had been dreaming up for years, her in the window looking out. Icon.
The toasts and the dancing were all a riot. There were veggies as props and sparkling gemstones passed around for face adornment. The caretaker and farmer even sang a few punk numbers for the guests which was giving me all the feels from the 90’s. It was obvious to us that these two were fun as hell and beloved by their circle. What a special wedding to be a part of. Pinch us ok?
