Acadia Maine Elopement with Abby and Bobby

Elopements in Acadia are the special sauce in our wedding Big Mac. We can’t get enough of them — the cliffs, the ocean air, the feeling that the entire park is quietly witnessing something special. Abby and Bobby’s day was exactly that kind of magic.

We met them in the Otter Point overlook parking lot, a spot with sweeping views of the coastline and waves crashing far below. It was our first time photographing a ceremony there, so we were already excited before we even began. The weather was soft and moody, which we always think of as Perfect Weather. It gave the whole morning a romantic stillness, just right for a quiet elopement with only the two of them — and us — to take it all in.

A meet-cute to remember.

Abby and Bobby’s story could have come straight from a movie. Abby had just left an appointment with a matchmaker who told her to dumb down her résumé to seem less intimidating. (Terrible advice, obviously.) She walked out, decided to do her own thing, and went on a date she actually wanted to go on — with Bobby. That one decision changed everything. From that first meeting to their vows on the cliffs of Acadia, it’s been a story about choosing authenticity and finding someone who loves you for exactly who you are.

After their ceremony at Otter Point, we explored one of our favorite corners of the park — Otter Cove — before ending the evening at Jordan Pond, an Acadia classic. Usually, you can see the Bubbles perfectly reflected in the water, but on this day we were standing right in a cloud. It was peaceful, intimate, and somehow even more beautiful for it — a day we’ll never forget.

You made it all the way to the end — we love that kind of dedication. 💙
