Inn by the Sea Summertime Wedding: Sara and Nick

Some weddings just feel easy from the very first moment — the kind where everything flows, everyone’s kind, and the day unfolds exactly as it should. Sara and Nick’s wedding at the Inn by the Sea in Cape Elizabeth was exactly that kind of day. Clear skies, ocean air, and two of the most laid-back people we’ve ever had the joy to photograph.

The ceremony took place outdoors on the lawn overlooking the water, framed by soft summer light and the gentle sound of the sea. Sara carried a parasol, which felt perfectly her — elegant, effortless, and timeless. Their Jewish ceremony was warm and full of meaning, ending with the traditional breaking of the glass, surrounded by smiles and love from everyone present.

From the first look to the last toast, Sara and Nick made everything feel calm and grounded.

It was clear in every speech and toast how deeply loved they are — described again and again as cool, kind, and genuinely good people. Smart, too. They met while studying in North Carolina, which made us smile since that’s where Dan and I are from. There was this easy energy around them all day — no rush, no stress, just joy and connection.

After the reception, we walked with them down the private path from the Inn to Crescent Beach. The sun was low, the air was warm, and they finally had a few quiet moments to take it all in — one of our favorite parts of any wedding day.

The celebration wrapped up in downtown Portland at Gritty’s, where everyone gathered for an after-party that was relaxed, happy, and full of laughter — a perfect ending to a day that was beautiful, easy, and full of heart.
