Bar Harbor Historical Society Wedding with Jessamine and Jonathan

Right at the last minute, Jessamine and Jonathan had to change their wedding venue. Luck would have it that they were able to get the Bar Harbor Historical Society as their wedding spot. It’s such a beautiful building, right as you come into the heart of Bar Harbor, overlooking Frenchmans Bay, and the porcupine islands. We had wanted to photograph at this venue for years.

We were also really excited to meet these two. They have a kind of demeanor that made us feel special even though we were two of many vendors there that day to help. I felt like I was watching a precious love story unfold and become sanctified right before my eyes, and camera. I really did. Its been a while since Ive seen such emotion come from both parties on a wedding day. They didn’t have dry eyes too often on thier wedding day. All happy tears Im sure, tears of joy.

They had their first look in the park near the Jordan Pond parking lot, at a house that we have often driven past and wondered if we would ever take photos there. Jessamine and Jonathan, who live on Mt Desert Island, knew the good spots and they chose well. The moment when they saw each other almost had me crying! Not typical after all these years.

From that moment on, the rest of the day was all gravy. They were on cloud 9… or maybe even cloud 10. The ceremony was divine. The family photos were organized like lightening and we were helped along by an auntie who really should be a wedding planner. We went down to the water’s edge for a few couple portraits just at the end of the light of the day. The weather was a little chilly, which led to more snuggles than usual. Then they danced the night away.
