Intimate Acadia Wedding with Elizabeth and Ezra

A small intimate wedding often feels very sacred. There are only a few people invited and if you are one of the chosen, you know you matter… a whole lot. It’s funny being a part of events like these because we are strangers. We are there to represent everyone else who they love and who love them but couldnt be present for the wedding day. Its a huge honor.

When we first talked with Elizabeth and Ezra there was an immediate magic because we share a common history. Elizabeth grew up in Raleigh NC, just like we did. There were so many fun and funny references that we could share and enjoy together. It endeared us to her and her family so we were rip roaring to go when it was finally time to meet them in real life. For the first time in a long time we weren't the only ones saying “y’all.”

We met them at the Asticou Hotel. It was the first time that we had been back to the inn since they renovated. It was stunning, most especially the pool. After a first look in the lobby we made a beeline to that gorgeous pool. It was all I could do not to swim. I think there was probably reason to stay dry and keep working eh?

The family met us at the Otter Cliffs parking lot, and they we all walked across the street to the famous views of the Otter Cliffs. It was here, where Ezras mom performed the marriage ceremony. It was so beautiful and I hope it was all that Elizabeth and Ezra had been picturing.

We headed to the Atlantic Oceanside and had dinner and cake together. I got to reminisce about YMCA programming in the 90s in Raleigh with her dad, and see photos of Elizabeth that I swear could be photos of my own high school friends. Perhaps we were friends in another life.
