Married at Home: Bridget and Dustin
Some weddings are big and bold. Others are quiet, simple, and filled with the kind of sweetness that lingers. Bridget and Dustin’s day was the latter, and it was such a joy for me, Bethany, to photograph on my own while Dan was traveling.
Even after just a couple of phone calls with Bridget and Dustin, I had a feeling their wedding would be laid-back and fun. And I was right. From the start, the whole day carried an easygoing, they just wanted to get married at their home in Maine!
Vows in the Driveway
The ceremony couldn’t have been more personal. Standing in their own driveway, Bridget and Dustin exchanged vows surrounded by a few loved ones. It is always so fun to photograph in places that are meaningful to the couple.
After the ceremony, we headed to a nearby brewery in Lewiston Maine for snacks, sips, and celebration. It was the perfect setting for a couple who wanted their wedding day to feel like themselves — casual, cozy, and fun. The laughter, toasts, and clinking glasses were proof that love doesn’t need grandeur to be beautiful.
If you’re dreaming of a Maine backyard wedding (or frontyard :) or something small and intimate, know that it can be just as special as the biggest celebration. Easy, breezy, beautiful indeed.
