Rainy Boston Wedding: Noelle and Sam
One of my favorites. These two are in love, and no rain could get in the way of that. I’ll always love the moment they came out of the ceremony, smiling with tears in their eyes.
It was a rainy day in Boston, Massachusetts — the kind of steady rain that soaks everything and somehow makes the city feel quieter. Sam and Noelle chose to do their first look at theSwan Boats in Boston Common, which made the moment even more personal. Sam worked at the Swan Boats when he was younger, so it wasn’t just a scenic spot — it was part of his own history. The rain didn’t slow them down at all. If anything, it made the moment feel more private, tucked into the middle of the city.
Noelle is a boxer and tough as nails, and that strength showed up all day — calm, grounded, completely present. This was a tiny wedding inside a massive Catholic church, with only their families in attendance. Because of that, we had the entire sanctuary to ourselves. It’s rare to be able to get this close during a Catholic wedding ceremony, and the quiet in the space made everything feel even more intimate. Every step, every glance, every breath echoed.
The contrast was striking — a huge, ornate sanctuary holding such a small group of people who knew each other deeply. Nothing felt rushed or crowded. The ceremony unfolded slowly, reverently, with space to actually witness what was happening instead of watching from a distance.
When Sam and Noelle came back down the aisle together, the rain was still falling outside. They were smiling, emotional, completely locked into each other. It’s one of those moments that stays with you — not because it was dramatic, but because it was unmistakably real.
As Boston wedding photographers, days like this are rare and meaningful. A rainy Catholic wedding in Boston, Massachusetts, with space, access, and trust like this, is something we don’t take lightly. The weather didn’t matter. The scale didn’t matter. What mattered was that they were fully there, together.
