Berkley Massachusetts Wedding with Molly + Christian
Molly and Christian came our way via Amy, a bride we worked with last year, and whom we adored. Knowing Amy was our connection, we were already all-in with Molly and her beau. In her initial email she mentioned her amazing wedding dress, of which she bought two and decided between the morning of. Thats some last minute behavior and its the kind of vibe this Type B photographer can get behind. Right before we left the room to head to the ceremony, Molly said that she looked like a Victorian Ghost ready to haunt… and that sealed the deal. She was cool.
They both got ready onsite at Chamberlain Farms, and then met in the barn for a ceremony including a bagpiper and a handfasting. It was very New England classical. I felt like Lizzie Borden would have been a honored guest (only if she was innocent of the charges of course).
We headed over to the reception with everyone and enjoyed the tasty treats and drinks and the fine company of their family and friends. Molly’s mom read an Irish blessing and we began the dinner. This first dance had a racy lyric in it and we all laughed while they blushed on the dance floor. I remember it fondly. As the sun set, we went outsdie for a few couple photos and then it was time to party. When people took a break from the dance floor, they gathered around and smoke cigars or ate canolis and chicken wings by the fire. Tell me a better way to relax? Give me a wing please. It was even sweeter since they mostly work in the restaurant industry and they got to enjoy being served instead of serving others. Right at the end of the night, Molly’s dad surprised her and Christian with a sparkler exit. It was a novel idea to him and I felt like I have been photographing weddings a really long time if sparklers are a new thing now. It all comes back around doesnt it? Congrats to Molly and Christian!
