Farmer’s wedding in Alna, Maine with Tessa and Andrew

Now I’m not 100% positive that what I’m about to say is true. Tessa and Andrew threw a Witch Wedding.
There I said it. I did float the idea with them while we were there but they denied it. So perhaps I’m wrong and it was just a normal wedding, with bones and skulls and a full moon, on a Monday. Witchy or not, it was absolutely unforgettable and a feast for the eyes all day long.

I met Tessa at an airbnb near their home. Her sisters and mother were all there, helping her don her bird bone necklace, made from a bird her cat brought to her as a gift. We headed over to their farm and hung out in their 1700’s farmhouse before the ceremony. A slow walk through the property to the ceremony spot calmed all our nerves. All their friends and family were waiting at the top of a field, ready to see these two get married. They talked about all the adventures they had enjoyed together so far, and dreamed of many more to come. They promised forever to each other, gave a kiss, and they were married! Listening to their vows, made me want to get to know them more. They have done so many cool things.

After the ceremony and a few photos, we all headed back to their backyard and started the reception. They are farmers and raise Rabbits, which we ate at dinner. The caterers were having a field day with all the hyper local treats and cooked it all right before our eyes. The full moon came out and we headed up to their barn, where an overall clad DJ friend of thiers spun records. They signed the marriage license on a barrel outside in the dark. Like I said before… it was an unforgettable day. Keep an eye outs for her Rabbit Coat ;)
