Moody Maine Engagement Session at Spring Point Lighthouse with Darrah + Doug

Im writing this blog post over a year past when we photographed this engagement session. Thats not something I often do. This particular blog post needed reformatting. I have the added benefit of having been to their wedding, delivered those images to D+D, and we're friends on social media. I get to look back at this early spring evening through these photos myself! Im already partial to Daraah and Doug, but I have to say Im so thankful we had this time together. Feels like a memory of hanging out with friends.

We met them in the parking lot, as we do so many other sessions. This parking lot was at the entrance to Robinson Woods Preserve in Cape Elizabeth Maine. Doug was open and kind and Darrah made me laugh early on so I felt more at ease. Doug was melting me, doing his best in a situation he surely wasn’t comfortable in. When one partner emotionally and interpersonally shows up even though they are uncomfortable with photos for the sole reason that their partner really wants these pictures… thats when Im melting. Its the best. I see you. I see you Doug.

We walked through the woods while Dan and I found spots we thought were cool for photos. We chatted and got to know each other a little. The trees were still in winter mode, and they make the most interesting shapes that time of year. The forest looks peculiar in a wonderful way. After the woods and the tiny coastline, we headed over to Spring Point for a few more photos in the evening. It was nice to have a short break in the cars, driving over to the other side of the Cape. It always feels like a really good deep breath when we get to move locations.

Their wedding was absolutely precious and Im so glad we were there with them for that time as well: Darrah + Doug Wedding
